YLF: What's Happening Now?
The Able Trust Selects Delegates for Sixth Annual Youth Leadership Forum
Entering its sixth year, The Able Trust’s Youth Leadership Forum (YLF) has become a vehicle for high school juniors and seniors with disabilities in Florida to explore their leadership potential in school, business and society. Co-sponsored by the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council, the YLF’s growing popularity is evidenced by this year’s outstanding pool of applicants.
Selected delegates will travel to the state capital where they will take part in four days of leadership building, networking, self-advocacy and interactive learning about issues affecting youth with disabilities, such as academic opportunities, independent living, special resources and more. The delegates will also have the opportunity to meet with professionals with disabilities, state officials and other youth with disabilities from around the state.
After a grueling selection process, The Able Trust is pleased to announce the 53 delegates that will represent their communities from July 21-24, at this year’s YLF. We would like to congratulate this year’s delegates and welcome them to the 2005 Youth Leadership Forum:
