YLF Selection Criteria

To participate in the Florida Youth Leadership Forum (YLF), a student must meet the following requirements:

• Be a Florida rising high school junior or senior under the age of 19 (students should be preparing to enter the 11th or 12th grade at the time of the YLF in July.)
• Have a disability as recognized by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
• Show demonstrated leadership potential
• Show participation in extra-curricular activities and community involvement
• Possess the ability to interact effectively with other students,
• Be capable of adapting to new surroundings and following an intense schedule of forum activities,
• Demonstrate a willingness to participate in small and large group discussions.
• Show proof of health insurance (private insurance, KidsCare or Medicaid are acceptable)
