About the YLF

Staff

KRISTEN KNAPP, APR, has been managing the Florida Youth Leadership Forum since its inception in 2000. She oversees all program logistics, manages delegate and volunteer recruitment and handles event promotional and fundraising activities.

She is Vice President of Public Relations for The Able Trust, where she is responsible for managing the Foundation's statewide public awareness campaigns, coordinating events, developing promotional materials and media relations. She also manages special projects under the Trust's Florida Governor's Alliance designation, such as the Florida Business Leadership Network, Disability Mentoring Day and the Florida Youth Leadership Forum. A graduate of Florida State University, Knapp is Accredited in Public Relations and has over ten years' experience in public relations in the nonprofit sector. She is a past president of the Capital Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association, a graduate of Tallahassee Society of Association Executives Program for Association Leadership and has volunteered for a number of organizations, including the Tallahassee Area Chamber of Commerce, Florida State University Sesquicentennial Committee and Gamma Phi Beta International Sorority.


ALANA HILL is new to the Florida Youth Leadership Forum. She coordinates the program schedule, Junior Staff activities and event logistics.

Alana Hill serves as The Able Trust Public Relations and Events Specialist. She assists with creating and distributing promotional and press materials, coordinating public awareness events and implementing fundraising activities. Hill graduated with honors from Florida A & M University’s School of Journalism and Graphic Communications, with a Bachelor’s in Public Relations, where she served as President of the FAMU Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America. As a member of the FAMU Chapter of PRSSA, Hill chaired the national PRSSA 2005 Diversity Regional Conference on the campus of FAMU. She was named 2005 Student Leader of the Year by the FAMU School of Journalism and Graphic Communications.


CAROLYN PARDUE has been working with the Florida Youth Leadership Forum since its inception in 2000. She coordinates all accommodation, medical and travel arrangements for the participants. She also provides input and support for YLF logistics, volunteer activities and the program schedule.


LIZ PARDUE has been working with the Florida Youth Leadership Forum since its inception in 2000. She manages activities and logistics for Junior Staff on-site. Junior Staff are YLF alumni who return to the program as volunteers and peer support. Liz is a graduate of Florida State University and resides in New Orleans, where she does promotions and marketing for a local New Orleans attraction.
