DMD is a national event that will take place, statewide, on October 15, 2008. DMD allows students and job seekers with disabilities to shadow professionals and learn about career fields that interest them.
As the honorary chair, Rosen will work with The Able Trust and other DMD supporters to encourage more Florida employers to participate in DMD events and to open their doors to people with disabilities that are interested in getting first-hand experience in the workplace. Florida DMD activities will kick off on Thursday, October 2nd with a statewide celebration and free career fair for high school and college students with disabilities. The event will take place at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando.
Employers throughout the nation and state are invited to participate in this statewide kick-off and career fair as exhibitors. Participating businesses will have the opportunity to network with students and recruit future employees for their organizations. The official statewide and national commemoration of Disability Mentoring Day will take place on Wednesday, October 15th.
