The Able Trust continues to expand its programs and funding opportunities to support Floridians with disabilities as we move into our fourth quarter. The third quarter ended with $308,059 in grant awards to six agencies across Florida that are developing employment programs for people with disabilities, bringing the grant total to over $950,000 this Fiscal Year.
The Florida High School/High Tech program has expanded by adding nine new sites through a collaborative partnership with the Florida Department of Education’s Division of Vocational Rehabilitation. Through this partnership, The Able Trust has been able to provide financial and administrative support to the new sites. Florida now has 29 High School/High Tech sites across the state, serving over 700 students with disabilities.
Earlier this year we released the 2005 Annual Report which provides an overview of all of the Foundation’s programs, endowment and grant-making activities for 2005. A copy of this report is available on our website.
Also, please mark your calendars for the Florida Business Leadership Network’s EmployAbility Symposium on August 18, 2006 at the Renaissance Hotel in Tampa. The symposium features employer and service provider tracks, with workshop topics relating to each audience. Look for more information about the EmployAbility Symposium in this edition of the Florida Grantor.
We are looking forward to another successful quarter as we close out the end of our Fiscal Year. I encourage you to stay up-to-date about all of The Able Trust’s news and events by visiting our website at www.abletrust.org or calling our office toll-free at 888.838.2253.
