President’s Message

This quarter The Able Trust staff has been hard at work. As we wind down from the Youth Leadership Forum, we are already gearing up for many new and exciting activities such as the High School/High Tech school year and our eighth annual Mar-a-Lago Gala in Palm Beach. We also awarded grants to seven nonprofit agencies around the state that will begin or expand employment programs for people with disabilities.

Our staff is now preparing for the other events that are just around the corner. Tallahassee will be the national kickoff site for this year’s Disability Mentoring Day. The Able Trust will be partnering with Governor Bush, the American Association of People with Disabilities and the Florida Planning Committee to host this amazing event.

We are also working hard to coordinate this year’s “Mojitos at Midnight” annual gala at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach. This black-tie event will take place November 5 and promises to be a luxurious night, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting people with disabilities.
