The Able Trust is gearing up for its seventh annual gala on Saturday, November 6, 2004, at the historical Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach. “Under the Mandarin Moon” promises to capture the elegant beauty, excitement and allure of Asia. This spectacular black-tie evening features an exquisite five-course meal, a silent and live auction and breath-taking entertainment.
Legendary saxophonist and founding member of Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, Clarence Clemons, will perform with his band, Temple of Soul. Mr. Clemons will join Honorary Gala Chairman and National Baseball League Hall of Famer, Mr. Jim Palmer, in hosting the night’s festivities.
Guests can look forward to the always awe-inspiring décor to spotlight the elegance and mystic of Asia, with a fresh palette of mandarin orange and apple green generously infused with exotic Oriental tradition. Exciting, heart-pounding samurai entertainers and Chinese fan and ribbon dancers will delight and perfectly set the stage for Mr. Clemons and his band to heat up the new lavish ballroom at The Mar-a-Lago Club.
Proceeds from the gala benefit The Able Trust and its six participating endowment affiliate agencies including the Abilities Foundation, ARC of Palm Beach County, Children’s Haven and Adult Community Services, Palm Beach Rehabilitation Center, Victory Living Programs and Sunrise Community.
The Able Trust would like to thank its gala sponsors to date, who help underwrite the event. These include Walt Disney World Co., JFK Medical Center, Palms West Hospital, Columbia Hospital, Wachovia Wealth Management, Bloomingdale's Palm Beach Gardens, the Gardens of the Palm Beaches and VIVE Magazine.
