The Able Trust is gearing up for its sixth annual gala on Saturday, November 1, 2003, at the historical Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach. The South Seas Shangri-La Gala will include tropical cocktails, Tahitian drums, a decadent five course dining experience and breathtaking entertainment.
This year’s event includes a top-notch Celebrity Host Committee, including National Baseball League Hall of Famer Jim Palmer, who will serve as chair. Palmer is joined by Clarence Clemons, Michael Aram and Donald Trump. Mrs. Amanda Batchelor will serve again as the Gala’s Honorary Chair.
Proceeds from the gala benefit The Able Trust and its seven participating endowment affiliate agencies, including The ARC of Palm Beach County, Abilities Foundation in Clearwater, Brain Injury Association of Florida in Ft. Lauderdale, Children’s Haven & Adult Community Services in Sarasota, Palm Beach Habilitation Center, Victory Living Programs in Dania and Voices for Florida’s Children in Tallahassee.
The Able Trust would like to thank its gala sponsors, who help underwrite the event. These include AmSouth Bank, Bloomingdale’s Palm Beach Gardens, The Gardens of the Palm Beaches, Guerlain, Paris, JFK Medical Center, Palms West Hospital, VIVE Magazine, Wachovia Wealth Management, and Walt Disney World Co.
A kickoff event, hosted by VIVE Magazine, will take place in September in Palm Beach. VIVE Magazine will help The Able Trust unveil more exciting details about the gala, as well as give guests an opportunity to meet this year’s gala chairs.
