Computer Grants for Individuals
The Beaumont Foundation of America is a charitable organization committed to improving the lives of individuals by providing computers with Internet capability, a printer and software. The foundation's technology awards of Toshiba computers and equipment are made available to persons with disabilities or with terminal illnesses, as well as children living below the poverty line or in a shelter.

Scholarships for College Women with Disabilities
The Ethel Louise Armstrong Foundation, Inc. (ELA) is offering scholarships to women with physical disabilities who are enrolled in a college or university graduate program in the U.S. Each applicant is required to submit an application packet including a form, college transcript, two letters of academic recommendation, a medical verification form and an essay outlining how they will "Change the Face of Disability on the Planet."
Scholarships are based on merit and range from $1,000 to $2,000 per year. The application deadline is June 1, 2003. For a copy of the application, visit the ELA website at www.ela.org.

Orlando Hosts World Congress & Exposition on Disabilities
The World Congress on Disabilities features workshops and exhibitors that address a variety of topics and supplies for people with disabilities, family members, educators and others. This year's event will be held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, from September 18-20, 2003. An Employment Symposium, in collaboration with a job fair sponsored by Hire disAbility, will be held during the event. The Foundation Center now offers information about grants specifically for people with disabilities. The website offers important print and electronic resources designed to help individuals with disabilities obtain financial support. Also included in the user aid is information on accessibility for disabled visitors to their libraries and learning centers. FASC & FL-APSE Join Second Annual Self-Determination Conference
The Florida Association of Support Coordinators (FASC) and the Florida Association for Persons in Supported Employment (FL-APSE) will hold their annual conferences in conjunction with Florida's Second Self-Determination Conference scheduled for August 22-24, 2003, at the Hyatt Regency City Center in Tampa.
Florida's Second Self-Determination Conference will bring together 1,000 individuals with developmental disabilities, their family members, educators, support coordinators, job coaches and service providers. Participants will have an opportunity to hear from self-advocates as well as national, statewide, and local speakers who will provide up-to-date information on self-advocacy issues and the self-determination movement.
