"Perpetuity" is a long time. It's one of those five-dollar words you don't run across every day. Chances are you'll never hear it on the six o'clock news or read it in the evening paper. It's not something you see on a theater marquee.
But "perpetuity" is a word we relish here at The Able Trust. We use it often because it perfectly describes our endowments.
Trumpet Sounds
It is said that every noise produced on earth creates sound waves that expand outward toward the infinite reaches of space. The waves extend unendingly. Or we might say, the sound waves travel in perpetuity.
Creating an endowment at The Able Trust is like blowing a trumpet into the air. Like the far-reaching waves of the sound, the effects of an endowment carry unendingly to future generations.
Visionary Donor
One of our good friends blew her trumpet and established an endowment to ensure that her annual giving to The Able Trust would continue in perpetuity. She started the fund rather modestly and purchased a life insurance policy supported by affordable annual contributions making her Legacy Account both the owner and beneficiary of the policy. In addition, she plans to enlarge the endowment through a bequest from her estate.
We currently have 80 endowment accounts at The Able Trust. Some are large, some are small, but they all have the same thing in common: they are all managed prudently by investment professionals. The goal is to obtain both annual income and long-term growth.
Earnings Only
We are required to preserve endowment principal. Only the earnings are available annually to The Able Trust for distribution. This means our endowment funds will last. They will continue in perpetuity. And every name associated with every endowment will endure as well.
Would you like to do something lasting for persons with disabilities? You need look no further than our endowment program. This is the ideal way to create a legacy for yourself and your family.
Empowering Donors
The nonprofit Able Trust will help you give perpetual support to Floridians with disabilities who want to work - while benefiting your company or your estate. All of our endowment advisement services are free and exploratory. We work hand in hand with your principals: officers, attorneys, tax advisors.
To learn more about our endowments and how easily you can establish one, contact Tom Norman, our director of gift planning at 888-838-2253. You can get started now with a current endowment, or you can activate one later through a deferred gift. Or, like our good friend mentioned earlier, you could do both.
