The Florida Lions Conklin Centers For The Blind is a human services agency based in Daytona Beach that helps multihandicapped blind adults and visually impaired children lead independent, productive lives. The Center's adult students are taught independent living and vocational skills, and offered support to work in real jobs and live on their own in the community. They assist adults from all across Florida. The Center's Early Intervention Program teaches skills to visually impaired children from birth through age five that prepares them for an independent life. The program heightens each child's functional levels of independence through collaboration with families and other providers. Services help children and families in Volusia, Flagler, Brevard, and Putnam Counties. Millard Conklin, an attorney and prominent Lion, founded our agency in 1979. Florida Lions Conklin Centers For The Blind is proud to be the only facility in the United States that offers independent living and employment training programs, followed by optional lifelong support services, to help multihandicapped blind persons lead dignified, self-sufficient lives.
