Community Partners

Community partners are another crucial element in the High School/High Tech design. Local HS/HT programs benefit from partnership with a variety of local resources including: the community and/or state college, technical school, school district, local One Stop Center, Chamber of Commerce and City and County government. Organizations within the community can get involved in a variety of ways. Below are some of the examples of how community organizations are partnering with sites across Florida.

Division of Vocational Rehabilitation

The Able Trust has partnered with the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation to strengthen and expand the High School/High Tech (HS/HT) program. The partnership has enabled The Able Trust to award grants to create 14 additional sites across the state.

Workforce Florida

Workforce Florida, Inc. provides development services in Florida through a system of nearly 100 One-Stop Centers. These centers are designed to provide easy access to diverse services including job placement and training. Local One-Stop Centers partner with local HS/HT sites to provide significant support to HS/HT students through access to youth employment services and paid summer internships.
