No visa was necessary at The Able Trust’s Eighth Annual Gala “Mojitos at Midnight”. The event held, Saturday, March 25, 2006, was a monumental success, raising $300,000 benefiting Floridians with disabilities. The 250 guests gathered for an unforgettable evening in Old Havana at an exclusive, black-tie affair that harkened back to the days of vintage Cuba – replete with all the accoutrements of the era: unforgettable jazz, high society casinos, inspired culinary creations, magnificent mojitos and, of course, an unrivaled array of cigars.
Gala chairs Rudy and Cathy Polselli of Barrier Walls of South Florida not only used their time and talent to ensure the evening’s success, but became the center of attention when Mr. Donald Trump made an unexpected visit to their VIP table during the gala’s festivities.

A silent auction complete with fabulous destinations and a live auction that was a flurry of excitement, all added to the magic of the evening. Highlights included a 10-day Holland America cruise, a weeklong stay at a private chateau in France courtesy of Susan Norton, a spectacular shopping spree to The Gardens Mall, a magical experience at Walt Disney World, opulent jewels from Jhanna Fine Jewelry and a day of golf with seven-time LPGA Champion Michelle McGann, who was in attendance.

This one-of-a-kind evening was a terrific success and couldn’t have been possible without the sponsorship of Walt Disney World Resorts, JFK Medical Center, Palms West Hospital, Barrier Walls of South Florida, The Gardens Mall and Saks Fifth Avenue. Jewelry artisan Jay Strongwater, graciously donated his renowned elegant, hand-enameled and bejeweled picture frames for invited guests.
Special thanks to all the gala sponsors, contributors and guests who all made the evening a great success.
